  • Light-peak was a great idea then Apple bribed Intel, took away the video stream capture ability, made it copper instead of optical and stopped PC manufacturers from getting it. Nice work Apple dickheads.

  • @lizardmannnn 50 GHz is theoretically impossible - The limit is approximately 10GHz because of various reason which I won't bother listing now.

At the moment we can just wait for quantum-computers to developed or perhaps use fiber optics in our computers instead of electricty in some way.

  • @TVperson1 -- spot on.. they did practically the same thing with firewire, and look where it got them (usb, another intel product, ultimately won). eventually the 'apple' thunderbolt will die. lightpeak (the optical variety intel originally intended) will live on.

  • @DawkinsForWeAreMany I made a comment 5 months ago, deal with it. and it's you're not your.

  • @PaterBoy17 And pay more for the same hardware? I would pass on that offer. I'll go PC with Linux. My face when paying 1/5th the price and getting the same hardware with a free operating system: myfacewhen(dot)com/247/

  • @LTF85199 just buy a mac and dont worry about pc's.

  • @adryanv the hard drive? ya but expensive to go SSD

  • @timak74 the new macbook pro is coming out in a week with some stunning mods and they said that light peak technology is going to be one of the mods

  • @Alantgv Yes! Über! ;)

  • Will I be able to install the 'Intel Light Peak' card into my MacPro desktop 2009?

And what will it sell for (retail) in the UK?
