The Jasmine Guy Interview - Part I

When I first interviewed Jasmine Guy, she was playing one of three scarecrows in the road production of "The Wiz". Over the years we have talked through nearly each stage of her career. In our most recent talk, we covered a range of topics from acting, spirituality and motherhood. In March, she will be starring along with T.C. Carson (Livin' Single) and Eugene Lee in the play Miss Evers' Boys which is about the Tuskegee Study. The play is being produced by True Colors Theater Company of Atlanta and directed by its co-founder Kenny Leon who directed the stellar cast of Raisin in the Sun on Broadway and the ABC movie. I interviewed Guy and Carson one morning before rehearsal. Neither knew I was going to video tape it but they agreed to do it any way. They both were candid and open.
