New York-born physicist Murray Gell-Mann is known for his creation of the eightfold way, an ordering system for subatomic particles, comparable to the periodic table. His discovery of the omega-minus particle filled a gap in the system, brought the theory wide acceptance and led to Gell-Mann's winning the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1969.

  • The two operators didn't commute... LMAOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • @rocksparadox He mentioned what I said in an interview once.

  • @MuonRay BTW, Invader Zim RULES !!

''Why is there BAACOON IN THE SOAP ?''

  • @MuonRay What you're saying here sounds very plausible but how do you get the information concerning his private life ?

I'm just a mathematics enthousiast and half a chemist, I know baryons (protons and neutrons) but I assume you're a physics student/teacher ?

  • This is absolutely remarkable. Murray Gell-Mann clearly suffered from a mild form of depression throughout his early career. this is not the first time he admitted mentioning about suicide, before the Omega Baryon was discovered he asked one of his colleagues "what building would be best for me to jump off" due to him having spent 2 years waiting for the particle to be discovered which would later prove his baryon decouplet model and proving the existence of quarks.
