How long will an Optima Battery last?

The average life of an Optima battery is significantly longer than the regular battery. Temperature, energy cycles and basic voltage maintenance during storage have the largest impact on battery life.

I have an Optima battery that I bought in Fairbanks, Alaska. Made in 2001 & I purchased it January/February 2002.

It first was in a 1981 AMC Eagle SX/4, then a 1983 Dodge D150 then to a D.D. 2003 Jeep Wrangler Sport: It's still going! It had about a year & a half break/ two, on a trickle charger, when it went from the Eagle to the Dodge. It went to the Jeep as an Odyssey battery lives with the SLANT6 as a seasonal item. But, the Odyssey is a better battery in all respects: will last to 15 yrs.

Optima does NOT last 6yrs now days. I say 'now days' because Johnson Control has Optima made in Mexico. This has been about 2-3yrs now. Optima's return rate has skyrocketed, quality is absolute junk. I'm a D/C Power Tech and been doing it for 8yrs now. My local Autozone dont recommend them either. Spiral technology is a joke... if it really was that great, then why wouldn't all the manufactures start doing it? It's truly a waste of space. Optima = Junk. Sorry, but fact.
