Tony West: Of Obama For America On Obama And The Future

the law firm Morrison and Forrester on Monday of this week to talk
about the campaign and why it worked so well and West's future.

West is well known in the San Francisco Bay Area as an excellent
plaintiff's lawyer. But West is also known as a friend of
President-Elect Barack Obama. West met Obama in 2004 and offered to
help him should he elect to run for President. When Obama did, he
called West and thus began West's role as Chair of the fundraising
committee for Northern California.

It also started a round of basketball between the two that's gone well
enough for Obama to give West a pair of his shoes to wear for games.

Since Obama's election win, West's name has been floated for Mayor of
Oakland, a position in some capacity for Obama, and Alameda County
District Attorney. West himself says his future may include remaining
with Morrison and Forrester as a lawyer.

West's wife Mia was just recently named Vice President of The Ford
Foundation, the first African American do hold such a title.

elect is now refusing to defend Prop 8, Yet Tony West who is now the assisant U.S.Attorney General in charge of the Civil Division is Defending D.O.M.A. which

is an atrociously discriminitory law that has been declared unconstitutional

by Federal Judge Tauro in Boston. I don't know what to make of this.

rhs;you don't understand his position fully. He is for the constitution and women's rights. He is not about killing anyone at no time of their existence. He wants to create preventions of the want, need to or reasoning to abort a protential child. It's a very complicated matter and must be dealt with by including the woman, not forcing her to except someone else's law that affects her directly. With he and his family morals in the white house would be more of an encouragement positive life.

sorry bro you couldnt be more wrong,he had a chance to sign the bill to ban partial birth abortion which he refused to sign,his wife held a fundraiser in support of partial birth abortion(saying it was a normal medical procedure)he is a supporter of planned parenthood which does suggest to girl to get an abortion(my gf worked there for 3 months)he is reducing funding for crisis pregnancy centers which is a alternative to abortion.thousands of black babies r murdered each yr in america.

Thats interesting...

You know, the biggest problem I have with the M.L.King birthday is that it comes in Jan just after Christmas when winter in hitting hard and no one wants to do anything except hunker down by the heater.

I also have always felt that the month of Aug was left without much to do.

Aug is about the most underused month we have.

I suggest the idea of a move of the MLK day to something in Aug.

The "I HAVE A DREAM" speech was in Aug, why not celebrate it ?
