Ann Curry: Morning as he has been all morning reporting on the terrible tornado and the impact there. hey, al. what can you tell us?

Al Roker: well, as you can see, the sky has turned exceedingly black. the wind is picking up. it's starting to rain. and we are looking at a storm that's got anywhere from two and a half to three-inch hail in it. wind gusts of 65 miles per hour. it's starting. natalie, the big concern is if there is a tornado out of the system, there is nowhere to go. there are some shelters set up, but they are few and far between. i want -- tony, take a look. you can see the edge of this now starting to roll in. this is not good. we're going to continue to track this, but we are really worried about it. as you look on the radar we are under a severe thunderstorm warning until 9:00 a.m. central time as the system pushes through. again, it's part of a larger area. we are under a strong risk for dangerous lightning, isolated tornadoes possible. the weather channel's dr. rick forbes has this area under a five out of ten possibility for a tornado today. that stretches right into tomorrow. whoa. okay. so that's what's going on around the country. here's what's happening in your neck of the woods.

  • Live in Mo. myself. The weather in Mo can be relentless. It has the worst tornadoes recorded in history. It unleashed madness in the 1890's, twice in the 20's. In 1925 (tri-state worst ever) killing 695. St. Louis. 1959...then 60's. This week...Sedalia, Mo, also Jopolin, Mo, and Montgomery, Mo. We had 3 touch here 2 days ago. Not to mention the hundreds this year. Missourians are carring a tornado record. My prayers go out to the hardship in Jopolin, Mo.

  • @goatsAREugly same here
