  • Great Beethoven & Great Serkin toward the end of his stupendous career. I can't think of another musician who so influenced me in my sixty-five years. I still lament his passing from twenty years ago. Thank you so much for making this available.

  • @BrotherWoody1 You're welcome!

  • Even great pianists can sound exhausted by the end of this piece, but Serkin is so lucid and strong - like he's still reacting to the end of the last movement. Thank you so much for posting this.

  • You're welcome!

  • ...one of the last great great beethoven interpreters----->rudolf serkin, his hammerklavier sonata i ve heard at royal festival-hall-london is still in my ears!:)

  • Yeah I heard him do the Hammerklavier (along with Sonata No. 6 in F major (and the 3rd one I can't remember for some reason) in Orchestra Hall in Chicago in 76. It was tremendous playing even though he wasn't feeling well (he was coughing while playing) so he was a bit weak on the keys. But the interpretation was titanic! I'll never forget it!

  • This is the only person in the whole world who plays this EXACTLY how I hear it! I am astounded! Marvellous! Beautiful! Magnificent! Beautiful! Sexy! Perfect!

  • ......Absolutely beautiful, i cant describe this deep emotion.

  • I just LOVE (!!!!!!!!!!!) this. So many colours everywhere; he's so connected to everything he does..........

  • @kajohada

  • Beautiful rendition of this music piece.
