Me resulta increible la erudición de pianistas como Serkin, Kempff o Arrau. La solidez de su discurso es impresionante. Veo a Barenboim haciendo un esfuerzo único por satisfacer al público con la interpretación de esta sonata mientras Serkin lo hace tan natural como respirar.Gracias por esta video.

Beautiful rendition of this music piece.
Great Beethoven & Great Serkin toward the end of his stupendous career. I can't think of another musician who so influenced me in my sixty-five years. I still lament his passing from twenty years ago. Thank you so much for making this available.

Even great pianists can sound exhausted by the end of this piece, but Serkin is so lucid and strong - like he's still reacting to the end of the last movement. Thank you so much for posting this.

...one of the last great great beethoven interpreters----->rudolf serkin,his hammerklavier sonata i ve heard at royal festival-hall-london is still in my ears!:)

Yeah I heard him do the Hammerklavier (along with Sonata No. 6 in F major (and the 3rd one I can't remember for some reason) in Orchestra Hall in Chicago in 76. It was tremendous playing even though he wasn't feeling well (he was coughing while playing) so he was a bit weak on the keys. But the interpretation was titanic! I'll never forget it!
