My demo of the sounds on the Yamaha VL70-m. All you're hearing is the onboard sounds, with no additional effects or treatments. The module was controlled from a keyboard with pitch wheel and two mod wheels, and breath controller. The sounds in this demo come mostly from Program Bank 1, and are mainly lead-type sounds. - uploaded via http://www.mp32u.net/

I have to add that that breath control thing is a little more than just blowing. I played recorder and clarinet YEARS ago in school, but think that some of the techniques are transferable. If all you want to do is control the volume, then blowing alone will do it. But, on the first sound I you hear on this track, I was doing a bit more than that - making "t" sounds and almost spitting into the mouthpiece (ew). I think you can hear that in the sound. But it wasn't too hard!

No, I didn't as yet touch any of the preset sounds. Everything is just the VL, recorded directly to a Roland R-05 and uploaded directly to the PC. The breath controller took a bit of getting used to, but wasn't stupidly difficult. It's that that makes all the difference though.. Mainly, it controls the volume of the sound; the pitch wheel and two mod wheels (or mod wheel and aftertouch) control the "fluttertongue" effects and the vibrato, and you *do* need to use those too.

Hi Thank you for sharing your VL sounds. Have you reprogrammed any of the presets at any time eg, modulation, resonance, base, treble. I like the breathy type of sounds. I enjoyed your demo. All the best with your music. I live in Perth West Auatralia.
