The love story that is 'The Girl in the Fireplace' centres around Reinette and The Doctor.
The episode takes place in multiple time periods as the Tenth Doctor, Rose and Mickey find time windows leading to 18th century France and a group of clockwork androids using them to stalk Madame de Pompadour throughout her life.
Not my favourite episode due to the lack of continuing animosity shown towards Mickey by Rose after he joins the TARDIS crew in 'School Reunion' and discontinuity of how the Doctor treats Rose. But I love the sets, monsters, costumes and music! A great stand-alone episode.
Hope you won't think my video too soppy! ;)
along the the van gogh episode I think this was the best ever episode of Dr Who.... fantastically touching and beautifully acted by all

This episode made me laugh SO hard, even after watching it five tiems on Netflix. I mean, gasping for air laugh. I LOVED it. SO MUCH.

In my world, the Doctor " I am the Lord of Time, you think I can't find any moment that i want in a beautiful woman's life?" The Doctor picks up Reinette as she is looking out the window at the stars, and they are ------together still. Ah Amore!!!!
