A young Bosniak diving into Neretva river from Stari Most, the Old Bridge.
Stari Most is one of the most spectacular arched bridges I have seen. A masterpiece of Ottoman architecture and building tradition.
During the Bosniak-Croat conflict in 1993, on November 9th the bridge was bombarded by Croatian artillery and fell in Neretva river 450 years after its construction.
International donors, touched by the bridging symbology of the site for the newly established state of BiH, funded the reconstruction and in 2004 Stari Most returned in its former flare. Today it's an UNESCO World Heritage site.
