When NFL running back Ryan Moats, exercises his own judgment in getting to the hospital to see his dying mother, Dallas police officer Robert Powell draws his gun on Moats and his family for disobeying a government traffic control device.

OTN's unique perspective on this example of government abuse is sure to provide new insights and perspectives on police, society, and the world in general.

  • The cop might have been a jerk.... but Moats endangered the public by speeding and running red lights and stop signs. Regardless of his hazard lights, that would not have stopped him from hitting someone. Both were wrong in this situation.

  • Your right, hazard lights wouldn't have stopped him from hitting someone after running a red light. That';s why he slowed down looked, made sure it was clear, and then went.

Are you suggesting he sit at a deserted light in the middle of the night with his mother dying in the car? Talk about blind obedience.

    Give me a break.

  • @obscuredtruth Hid mother wasnt in the car... she was at the hospital. That would be a different story but its not the case. Its not blind obedience. Youre telling me you dont know why you stop at a red light or stop sign? If I run the light and t-bone you will you hold me responsible? Will you expect me to pay for your damages? Would you expect the police to cite me?

  • @dk0403 - Do you think it's important to point out your connection to the military? Are you one of the mindless authoritarians who would put rules over common sense?

  • @obscuredtruth No not at all. Like I said if his mother were in the car then it would be a different story. Thats where common sense comes into play. Would Moats be the victim if he would have hit you with his car? I dont understand how me being a helicopter mechanic in the marines has anything to do with this. So I have answered your questions, are you going to answer mine or just use your word games...

  • Perhaps what makes you most upset is seeing someone question authority. It's been drilled into you in government schools, through society, boot camp, etc. The government is in charge, they are good, and the people they say are bad are really bad right? Wake up, they are using you to enslave others.

I'm not advocating no responsibility. quite the opposite. If Moates or anyone else uses their own judgment, makes a mistake and causes damage, they should be responsible.

  • another brilliant video, sam. keep up the good work!

  • I went to high school with moats, and this stupid pig decided it was more important to write him a ticket while his mother died in the hospital. A whole bunch of bullies that got picked on in school and now they are just strung out on this big power trip

  • How is the officer endangering people? When he came up to the red light he had his lights and sirens on and he still looked for traffic as he slowed down. you really need to get your facts straight because your a fucking moron. and dont you even try to give me an excuse to why your such a dumbass because none of them are going to work with me. you stupid gay boy.

  • if the cop wasn't a douche bag (it's ashame most are) he would've said "go and see your mother-in-law and we'll handle this after."

i know ryan moats personally and he is a class act. he's a hard working guy with none of the "gansta" attitude. sad to have seen such a classy guy insulted

  • fuck the police!!!!

  • Always dumb cops doing these things. If only there was some way to not allow dumb cops on the force

  • This is so stupid. Don't we ALL just start exercising our judgement to run redlights. Who is to sort out which are real emergencies and people trying to act like there is an emergency to violate the law. Why don't we just do away with ALL those nasty laws and let it be survival of the fittest.

  • Ok lets get this straight. First off the officer is not endangering the public, he turns on his sirens and lights to let the public know he is running code. Second know one knows the situation untill he makes the stop....for all he could be a convicted fellon.....this commentator is a idiot and has nothing to do with racism. are they say that this person is special cause he is a sports player. I admitt the the cop is totally out of line but come on this commentator is a idioit and i hope he dies

  • this commentator is a idiot

  • Everyone that said some negative about this dude is stupid. all yall need to go to hell. His mother-in-law is dying an all u can say is that he is breakiin the law. WTF is wrong with u people. If the shoe was on the other foot would u say the same thing again u fuckin dummies. Family comes first u retards. That is the way of God not the damn law. fuck the law.

  • Why can't he just shut up, pay the ticket and walk to his mom? It would take like 5min...

If this driver would have used his brain and stopped at once and the police would probably have escorted him to the hospital.
