I'm pretty sure his data was lost because he was using a flash drive. If Truecrypt is on your regular hard drive, I don't think data will be lost.

what happens if my computer restarted or power off without dismounting my truecrypt volume? (due to power outage for example)

@1987Challenger3 Yup. Just like you would on a removable drive. You can also choose whole drive encryption; a separate lesson altogether.

Question: Is it possible to use "Keepass" to automatically insert the Password in the Truecrypt Bootscreen?
I know it works when you are already in Windows but will it work when you have to enter the Password during boot?

@KeskinTRS I don't think Keepass is a pre boot option. I have only used it after Windows is booted up.
