Filpinos, Karaoke, and a dream of active noise cancellation.

Filipinos and karaoke are inextricably (and inexplicably) linked, sometimes the results vary from acceptable to brilliant and no one's ears start bleeding. Other times, well...I'll just let this clip speak for itself.

I made this with a video camera that arrived in the mail today; this is literally the first thing I've recorded with it. This is what I have to endure most afternoons and Sunday evenings, as my Filipino neighbors butcher every song that already makes you groan in misery even when you hear the original artist's version. Strangely I find it more amusing than annoying, and there's the occasional caterwauling that actually brings back good memories.

This pretty much sets the tone of my future in videography, I can already tell it's going to be a great summer.

Ironically, I believe I'm the only Filipino I know that does not own a karaoke machine of some kind.
