  • Glute ham is such an underrated workout. It is really one of the best things you can do.

  • I deadlift a fair amount so when i came across these i was like PAH! But these are no joke! Havent hit my hamstrings like that in a long while! Its also more fun that deadlifting!

  • damn, wouid love to do it, but we don't have anything in the gym where i can do that, not even at the pullover station is it possible to do

  • did these and it bloody tore my hamstring like the ligament behind my knee, cant train legs/play rugby for couple of week now :(

  • I'll know I've made improvement when I can do this -- just once.

  • How do you actually build up enough strength to actually PERFORM one rep of GHR?? Because every time I attempt to do 1 rep I can feel my hamstrings cramping up... I actually attempted GHR after my squats/stiff legged deadlifts.

  • @patchyoyo well said, did you know there are numerous studies proving that it reduces hamstring strains :D, although it's sad some "experts" say it doesn't, i think i'd believe the research and studies, wouldnt you? :)

  • the nordic hamraise (poor mans Glute-ham raise) is proven to reduce injuries while sprinting during the eccentric phase

  • Try the Romanian Deadlift instead which will produce an even greater & more direct effect on your deadlift than this exercise.

  • I'm not saying this to be a dick (don't you hate comments that start like this, lol) but I don't find these that hard to do and I've watched this and many others on youtube.

I used to avoid it as I thought I'd look like an ass if I couldn't come back up but I guess my hams were stronger than I thought. I do squat a lot.

I do find it a great excercise to do and keep the hamstrings balanced with the quads.

  • ps that looks hard as shyt, and scary if you can't curl yourself back up lolol

  • ive been in the gym for 7yrs, and I NEVER knew wtf this machine even did (couldn't figure it out) until this video. thanks :D
