The Jazz Enclosure 200 Amp from Evans is a great amp for any sort of music not just jazz, due to its tonal flexibility. In this demo, the JE200 is used on a Les Paul, Telecaster, and Stratocaster - both with and without an overdrive pedal. The JE200 is surprisingly light and sounds great at any volume level and on any guitar, making it a perfect portable amp for any type of music. Call the guitar experts at Sound Pure today for questions about this fantastic amplifier, or any other Evans amp. 919.682.5552.

  • I play a Les Paul with a JE150 (now the JE200). Because this amp has such a wide frequency span on the EQ, there are certain "best practices" that work really well for OD/distortion pedals with a humbucker equipped axe: (1) body down to 3-4. (2) use hot input and turn volume down to 3, master to taste - , (3) crank depth up to 75% or 3 o'clock (4) turn on expand. (5) Treble at 1 and Bass to taste. This yields a rich OD/distortion - even saturated sounds great. Key is not slamming the preamp.

  • @BlueRIff63 Wow, thanks for the excellent post! Nice to hear from a seasoned user like yourself. The key to this amp is its versatility...

  • Good sound for SS. Clean sounds just like a valve amp, O/d not quite so convincing but still nice.

This just a straight transistor style amp or it has some modelling in the circuitry?

  • @DMSProduktions These are all-analog circuits... no modeling or other "effects." In the end, they really are a great tonal amplifire, and really versatile. We've used them successfully on a wide range of things from Jazz/Acoustic to Rock. While they are famous for Jazz and Archtops, it's nice to know that the amp has some latitude

  • Nice. Always enjoy watching these videos.

  • @KsFile We really appreciate the support... we will keep pushing to get more and more out there too!

  • @dfpguitar Because they all DO!

  • @DMSProduktions

What makes you think it is trying to imitate a tube amp? Solid state amps ARE better at many things than the typical tube amp. Some SS amps can be downright better at everything than many tube amps. Even cheap ones.

  • @BlueRIff63 Thanks for the great comment, very true... it's interesting too see it used so flexibly here in a non-traditional application. It's a real versatile and great-sounding box.

  • I've used this amp at gigs with pedals and it does the job nice. A compressor helps.

  • sounds like a SS to me xD
