Actually, it's NOT illegal to search who someone's IP address belongs to. But, I will say this. Topix needs to be shut down or moderated more closely.

Anyone who believes the crap on topix is no better than the ones who post. But let's face it from Topix to Facebook to a thousand other websites there's losers with nothing better to do than post crap about someone else. Topix isn't the only cesspool but free speech for everyone. But just because you got free speech doesn't mean I'll necessarily condone or believe the content.

Topix has destroyed the livelihoods, careers and reputations of hundreds of people. Masquerading as their now somewhat unnoticed news aggregator ability, Topix primary draw is its anonymous unmoderated forums which they never EVER archive. Topix pushes advertising for news written by others and for defamation, abuse and bullying. The CEO claims to stand for free speech but what he really stands for is profit without a conscience. I know many Black women who have natural curly hair. But I can't stand the ones who change their hair texture. I love natural hair (kinky, afro, or curly). I myself have curly hair actually.
