The Hubert Rostaing Orchestra with Marcel Bianchi from "La Route du Bonheur". Bianchi was the only non-gypsy guitarist to record with Le Quintette du Hot Club de France.

Although Rostaing will always be best remembered for his time with Django Reinhardt, he went on to become a film composer and arranger and dabble in pop music under the name of Earl Cadillac.

  • Great video! Wasn't Roger Chaput a non-gypsy?

  • Yes of course. A mental block I'm afraid. So I'll re-phrase that "Bianchi was one of only two non-gypsy guitarists to record with Le Quintette du Hot Club de France". Glad to see you are on the ball Thrip.

  • @vonder Absolutely right. I think you should replace the words "mental block" with "the onset of senility". The Quintette of course played but did not record with other non-gypsy guitarists.

  • @TeddyDupont A second mental block Teddy, Jack Llewellyn and Allan Hodgkiss were non-gypsy too!

  • oooooooooo my god, gypsy jazz for sure, that is possibly the tastiest lick ever 0:48

  • thanks for posting this... Rostaing rules!
