the costumes are nice so is the musice, but the performance wasn't very appealing, because all they did was sway their hips, not really any other movement than that...all they know is hips moving right to left....there are other movements in hula, and otea(tahitian) than just swaying their hips side to side..where are the Fa'arapu's, or the Varu's???

it would be nice if you could point us to the right direction my friend. Are there any videos in youtube that could help us out? Thank you in advance my friend.

The best way to learn is to study about it, or by asking help and pointers from local halau's. They might help. but you guys have the costumes....but if you don't want to offend native hawaiians, just ask around about hula classes, but be super careful, because not all hula classes are legitimate. I'm not much of help cuz i live in california, and i don't know where you guys are located...sorry

we are manila-based (philippines), most of our guests are from the east and southeast asian region and I'm afraid that we don't have much resources as of the moment. It's quite a young group we have. Anyway, thanks for comment and response. Much appreciated my friend.

that's a relief! :D we do have the tendency to stylize the choreography a lot since the audience finds the "traditional" stuff too boring. The late Ramon Obusan even encourages us to do so.
