@NewChristianSoldiers that would be taking a step down.

Boy, i dont know. i tell you, the view from behind you would distract the he!! out of me. NICE:) I would be willing to take you shooting ANY time. All kidding aside, it does take lots of practice and being short, or having small hands etc. puts you at a disadvantage. i have shot/handled tons of different handguns before i settled on the XD. i prefer the XD (old design) to the XDM. I am 6' tall 185lbs and have a larger hand tho, so it just suits me better. always use a firm grip, not 2 tite tho

this is exactly why i don't like these guns there is so much shit on this gun its ridiculous if this would of been a fight for here life situation she would be dead (not to mention motor skill problems in high stress situations) they would be amazing guns they could design one that just had the bare essentials

Good shootin! Glad to hear you got your problem figured out..

I added a stainless steel guide-rod and lighter recoil spring for less muzzle dive when the gun returns into battery. I believe it is a 16lb spring while the stock is 18lb. Been awhile so i'm not quite sure. That is definately my "go-to" gun, never had a malfuction, even with crap ammo, and bulk range reloads. By the way, good shootin!
Trade your XD in for a Glock

I don't like the way Glocks feel in my hand, sorry, I really tried. The problem was a bad extractor and I sent it back to Springfield Armory and they fixed it and it hasn't happened since. I'm not a Glock hater, in fact I love all guns. :-)

Make sure when replacing the guide rod and spring that it is lined up exactly in the middle of the cam on the barrel. Also use a firm grip and stance when firing. A weak grip and stance may cause the XD to fail to cycle properly.

Thank you for the comment. My gun ended up having a bad extractor. It's rather uncommon to have that happen right out of the box like that but Springfield Armory fixed it, replaced the extractor and it shoots great now!
