This is the introductory episode to what I'm calling the manual movement, my "quest" for want of a better word to get more people using manual controls on FIFA. Because of how long this is, I'm breaking it down into two parts, and this is part one.

In this part I explain for the uninitiated what manual controls are and how you can use them on FIFA 12. I provide an example demonstrating the differences between manual controls and assisted controls. In part two, I demonstrate the differences between passing and crossing on manual and assisted, as well as combining all of them together into a practice match

What I really need is your feedback. If you guys don't think this is either useful or any good, there's no point in me continuing. I'm planning on uploading the provisional first proper episode tomorrow (which is a lot earlier than I planned) in order to get opinions on it as early as possible. I would really appreciate it if you make sure you like/dislike and leave a comment so that I know what you think. I've never done an audio commentary like this before so I'm a bit sketchy in places but I should get better at that over time.

The normal episodes themselves will be slightly less serious, but I figured for the intro I need to make my point clear without being silly. So this introduction will differ a little bit from the normal episodes, but I would still really appreciate feedback all the same.

problem is that with what you've shown here, you just cant be competative. i dont jew goal online, if they screw up and gift me the ball with the keeper i pass it back... but this would just be taking it too far. while i agree with the realism, you have to compete with all the other people online who, lets face it, most of them are arseholes. i've heard of manual having more control, which i can agree with but... is it really worth the years of effort?

@VodkarusHellstormius There is a filter to play 'manual only' when you select a match. It means you are matched with somebody else using full manual controls so that it is fair =) And yes, it is worth the effort. It definitely doesn't take years. You can become competent with manual controls in a week. It's so much more satisfying knowing that you were responsible for the goal as opposed to the game doing it for you. No harm in giving them a try one time =)

look, it's a valid point you make, but for the sake of realistic scorelines we need assisted controls. players in real life have 90 minutes to get their sights in, in an online game the standard time is what, 6 minute halves? i just feel like, especially considering some people simply won't have the capacity to learn manual controls, that there would be heaps and heaps of 0-0 online games if manual was the norm. it'd be like having to use a separate button to release the safety on guns in cod

@Iunio92 I agree assisted controls need to be included as an option for casual players. But people who play FIFA a lot, they easily have the time to get good at manual controls and trust me, if you give it a go and get the hang of it you will never want to play assisted again. And I use manual controls and can still sometimes score 4 or 5 goals in a game, 0-0s are not very common in my experience on manual.

And it is nothing like COD whatsoever xD

semi controls ftw. Haha im gonna start using manual and see how it goes. I heard that there are some things that there is more flexibility in amazing stuff you can do in manual.
