Two former HP buildings in northwest Houston were leveled to the ground using controlled implosions supervised by NCM Demolition & Remediation, LP and Controlled Demolition Inc. on September 18, 2011. The buildings, purchased by the Lone Stare College system last year for 12.6 million dollars, were deemed too robust and costly to maintain, according to officials.
