@Keinym I always played with Heat off. You can kill quite a lot with some PPCs, maybe a few rotaries, and a gauss or two. Whack in some X Pulse Lasers and you;re talking...
@Keinym You seem to forget the almighty Clan Railgun and his 56.0 damage ratio on the Behemoth 2 wich can also carry 2 Linked Capacitor PPCs with 18.0 DMG and 3.0 Recycle time....
Granted, such strikes produces an ungodly amount of Heat but it can one-shot any Mediums and even some Heavies
Though one mech that I did find very fun to use is the WartHog...Hands down the fastest Assault class EVER That besides the fact mine has 4 PPCs and a butt-load of SRMs with a few Light MGs filling up holes
Yea, PPCs deal out good damage at a decent reload time, but they have high heat generation.
Gauss rifles are good at heat levels, but ammunition can be a problem. The Heavy Gauss is also extremely big, but packs one heck of a punch. Can destroy an Uller or a Cougar in one shot if placed correctly.
@hydremajor It looks cooler. And tbh, there's a bit more options than the Nova Cat, it's a bit faster and while I like the thor, the Mad Cat wins on points. And for the Behemoth, only played Mercs and Vengeance.
Fafnir's are interesting, but I prefer PPCs to Gauss weapons, and so would probs use just a load of rotaries.
To me, if you wanna fight in close quarter you NEED a fast firing weapon...
Weapons that do perform incredibly well in CQC are SRMs (Not SSRMs however) because they have a rather high probability of setting target in fire while only having a Recycling time of 2.00, if you start spamming thoses you can force an ennemy into a generator shutdown...Wich is actually how you kill Fafnirs inside a Owens...
I agree. The Uziel has its uses (all mechs do), but the thing I don't like is the two machine guns as its primary weapon. Kinda useless against anything but light mechs. If it had a beam rack on its side torsos, it would be a huge imporvement, but would generate high heat.
It has a bigger Cockpit, less hardpoints and a bit less overall armor
Mad Cat MK II IS a monster machine on that there's no doubt but the first generation Mad Cat is somewhat rubbish when you compare it to other Heavy class such has the Thor and the Nova Cat (just to name my favorites)
As for assault class...Well I prefer a lot more the Heavy class...But I'd say my Fav Assault would be...Behemoth MK II hands down....

Yes, that's true. SRMs are excellent at close quarters. The tricky part for me is maintaining the targeting reticle (as they have no lock-on).
