One Hole at a Time

My second harmonica technique vid. I'm always amazed at players who sound like a library of famous harmonica licks. This exercise forces myself (and hopefully others who will try it) to be creative and make up their own licks. You start simple by limiting the number of holes you are allowed to play. You then add more holes and (hopefully) increase complexity/creativity. This helps me, I hope it helps others too.

@Addoisfly Not at all. People of African decent are the ones who figured out and mastered playing blues on a harmonica. They invented this stuff. Check out Little Walter, Big Walter Horton, James Cotton, Carey Bell, George Harmonica Smith, and Slim Harpo to see what I'm talking about.

@ImTheMetal either vocal chords or air escaping. I think it sounds cool when I hear it. some people don't like it. it just sort of happens.

Excellent video. Funny thing that made me laugh was when my wife walked pass while you were doing 3 holes and she went "what's this? gangsta harmonica? he's got some gang sign up". :D
