  • Great analysis Dwyer. Very objective. Good to see that there is still intelligent boxing fans out there.

  • I'll tell you what..... I dont think it was a good fight at all. The big surprise was Ward's ring craft and core strength. He fought a smart fight, he wouldnt trade, he stayed out of the way, jumped in with a couple of licks, then out muscled Froch.

All credit to Andre Ward - I'm a Froch fan, and it generous to give him 2 rounds - but I would still pay to see Froch ahead of Ward.

Ward has strength, speed ring craft..but i don't see a 'natural' boxer in there. Not a style I like.

  • @jabjabgrab123 and who ward fought? froch and kessler? ward doesn't have a long career fighting big names. just because bute didn't had yet the opportunity to fight them , doesn't mean he will have problems with them. if bute is so unproven, and so weak, why not beat him, ward would win a new belt and wold make more money than he made fighting froch and kessler together? weak up, there is nobody out there for ward, beside bute , and ward is ducking.

  • @CallidusAnguis dont worry your not annoying me, i like discussing boxing but like i said skill wise froch is not world class in my opinion. you are entitled to your own opinion.

  • @bbronxx ward is correct for noting that bute cant just demand a fight with him after winning the super six. Who has bute fought, he hasn't fought opponents anywhere near the calibre of who froch and ward have faced.

  • the other comment I would make, and I hate say this because McCraken is a home tome boy....but i think Frock would benefit from high level coaching.

  • I've seen this tendency, everybody' s rushing to put ward in their top p4p list, but i think it's a little bit early. he ducked bute for his next match but he has some good excuses, so bute will fight froch 2 times next year, one fight will be in Canada and one in England. if bute beats froch, and i think he will, i don't think ward has even the right to call himself no.1 in the division. Dwyer, you should put ward in top 3 p4p if he beats bute the way he beat froch.don't be overenthusiastic!

  • Ward made it look like Carl's arms were 3 inches too short.

I had it 118-110, same as the British judge. 115-113 was as generous as you could possibly be to Froch without being charged with fraud. Ward was sharp and excellent inside throughout but he did tire a bit late which is where I saw Carl pick up a couple of rounds and was close in others.

Bute Froch would be interesting. I thin Taylor Froch and Bute Andrade might be the blueprint fights there.

  • Great great post fight Dwyer. Disagreed with your last few but you were bang on the money with this one. I had it 120-108 to Ward. I couldn't give any round to Froch. I don't do sympathy rounds. It was all Ward....sadly.

  • @EricTyce yh i had it around the same. i had it 3 rounds to froch but that was being generous to froch.
