  • @dijieg Your correct there are two binding site for GABA molecules in GABAa receptor with that subunit conformation and binding of both molecules is required for channel opening. These two sites are between the alpha and beta subunits, one binding site per junction.

  • @dijieg - you are probably thinking of acetylcholine binding to nicotinic muscarinic receptors, which requires two acetylcholine molecules to bind.

  • Correct me if I am wrong, I think you need two molecules of GABA to attach to the agonist sites on the receptor
