Dear Czechs, I'm from Poland. I know that we despise each other as hell from years, You hate us for '68 invasion and fanatical catholicism (deservedly), we disregard your funny language and cowardice.
But I really do have to say one thing out loud- I have read thousands books in my short life and Milan Kundera is definitely my favourite writer, who had indescribable impact to my life. He's the best ;-D

His works are dazzling, beautiful, authentic, and so true. The Unbearable Lightness of Being, for me, was one of those life-changing books one is fortunate to read. Life-changing, attitude-changing, perspective-changing. Up there with Camus' The Stranger, Sartre's The Age of Reason, Kafka, Calvino...

@pearlyriver he's most definitely changed after 21/08/68. That's for sure. And besides "The Unbearable Lightness..." is in my Top 5 best books ever. Just read it for the 2nd time and the book comes out completely different. Each page, just fascinating. 10/10 (and no-one gets the perfect 10 from me)

@Osc1llateW1ldly I'm sure that person you were talking to still love Kundera as a writer, no matter what he did. Anyway, that incident happened half a century ago, people change, and Kundera too.

Those chairs are scandalous. Brilliant, brilliant writer - such a profound understanding of the human condition, pysche and sexuality.
