This is the Commodore Amiga AGA demo "Lightshaft" by the Polish demo group "Elude".

The demo won 2nd place at the Breakpoint Amiga demo competition earlier this year in April. The winner was the demo "Jesus Christ Motocross" by Traktor & Nature (http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=52968), which is also a great demo, but not as good as the Elude demo IMO. I'd say that Traktor & Nature were able to use the atmosphere of a live party to their advantage and got the audience going and rocking. Well, good for them, but lets see about its popularity over time.

  • Please tell me, what kind of amiga(Cpu,RAM etc) can handle such a piece of art? I quess it's not a stock A1200 ;) ;) ;)

  • @MoochBootch What makes you think that? Have you seen the later productions by TBL (The Black Lotus) for Amiga and Atari Falcon? Also think about what folks do on a C54 nowadays. That makes even its designers shake their heads :)

  • Should have been the winner... IMHO!

  • I agree.

  • @MoochBootch Most AGA Amiga demos need a 68060 at 64 Mhz to run well, so no.

  • ...................W O W!

  • yep. still one of the very best demos.

  • @sacreleases I take it you mean C64?

  • @MoochBootch

Runs on an Amiga 1200 or 4000 with 68060 cpu , guess 64 MB RAM should be enough.

  • @sacreleases Ok, i just saw a Black Lotus "Starstruck" .....I have no words. I am pretty sure, that even x86 cpu @300-400mhz could not handle this.

  • @sacreleases So it's possible to make a masterpiece like that on a stock A1200 14mhz? Im seriously asking, becouse my last contact with amiga was with my stock A1200 in 1995. I am amazed what coders can do this days.

    Greetings

  • @Glaruf it takes little effort to beat (technically) the Wii ;)
