  • fakesagan: a group is only possible if the people in that group share the same goals / have the same interests / have something in common.

you can therefore never be part of any community along those lines. you know that already, and this is why you criticize all attempts to organize. you cannot be part of it, because your goal is mindless drama, so you are against it by default. you dont realize your insignificance here.

  • Well Cristofer7, I'll be leaving town for christmas and want to wish you and your family a blessed christmas celebration. It is officially going towards brighter times and we should all take some time to relax with friends and family.

I'll miss your videos, but hope you'll keep up the good work in 2008.

btw: Did they celebrate anything similar in Africa around this time back in the days (like they did in europe)?

    Cheers!

    Your friend in Germany

  • nice vid man

  • I think you got your point. Now I agree with you where as originally I thought you were just trying to deny us the title of "Community" . PS you have such a peaceful demeanour. (spelling!!!??!)

  • That is exactly what Atheism is , a lack in believing in a God.

  • "trying to organise atheists is like trying to herd cats" seems like an appropriate quote right here

  • there's one problem with your point. Many protestant sects (i make no claim as to majority or anything like that) believe in justification by faith alone--meaning you're saved by mere belief.

I think your criticism is more directed toward Catholicism which does believe in both justification by faith and works.

Your argument shouldn't be directed at any religion, however, just belief in god. Atheism isn't the opposite of religion, and that's where your argument gets lost.

  • pope bent a dick.

  • That's just the point. Atheism does not and cannot regulate behaviour. It's literally lawless. The behavioural side of consistent atheism is anarchism. With no absolute standard, the individual can do whatever the hell he wants. Which is why (generally) atheists *say* there's no absolute source of right and wrong but in practice they have to *act* as if there were. Far from religion being a purely private matter, it's atheism that's a purely private matter. It can't work on the social level.

  • Nice vid.. :-D

  • Is a shared disbelief enough commonality to form a community.

All other communities manifest or reflect their existences through common behaviours by their members. Athiests have no identifiable behaviours.

  • Thi was intended as a reply to godverdegodverdomme comment below

"You may say that you cannot prove a negative,

but you can deliver proof by presenting the

    uncountable (and blatantly obvious) paradoxes

that would have to be broken to allow 'god'

    to exist."
