  • We are NOT a Christian nation. We are a nation of many cultures, religions, and beliefs. That is what makes us unique. That is what makes us awesome.

    A secular America=A strong America.

I would give my life to ensure it stays this way.

  • GO GO GO

  • one secular nation

  • @shiloh886 The Declaration of Independence has no standing in American law. Morals existed long before Christianity and Judaism developed.

  • @Logixmaster Religion ignores the freedoms in the Constitution.

Christianity and the Bible gave rise to the Constitution. Rights do not come from the Constitution. Rights come from Jehovah (Jesus) which is delineated in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. I also suggest you look up the 1789 Thanksgiving Proclamation made by George Washington which is especially relevant to this holiday.

  • @Logixmaster You don't think atheists have sacrificed their lives for this nation as well?

The American Revolution was a Christian movement. The majority of the founding fathers were Christians (I PMed you a tiny collection of their quotes). There is absoutely no evidence of atheism playing any role in the founding of America.

  • @Logixmaster There is no mention of any 'god' in the Constitution.

Correct. Although the Constitution was founded largely on the Bible (Please look up Sir Blackstone), our Christian founding fathers realized that the very founding of America was in part, because of religious oppression in Europe. Consequently, our Constitution defends everyone;s freedom of conscience via the First Amendment. We were not founded as a Theocracy. Were were founded as a Republic,

  • @Logixmaster who were these "Christians". Most of the founding fathers I know of weren't. Deism /= Christianity.

The documented evidence is so extensive that it requires numerous books to capture. It certainly cannot be captured here in a 500 word text message. However, I have sent a list of founding father quotes (together with literature references to your inbox). Here you will see that the majority of the signers of the Declaration and the Constitution worshipped Jesus.

  • @Logixmaster that's why we have to oppose its infringement on our rights.
