A L series with a sohc is going to spin itself into oblivion at 12k rpm, now if it had a OS Giken or the like head then MAYBE it could reach 12k, but that's still a big goal and a big cost.

Hmm yea dosent seem like a realistic idea to use old motors in new cars but maybe at the time it was cheap who knows and as for the 12+ rpm L series i was done (once) BUT was not a (POPULAR) thing so my bad for the false info and thanks for giving me the insight by the way do you have a Z?
