Space Shuttle Launch STS-26

Original raw footage filmed on location from Titusville, Florida. STS-26 was the 'Back In Space' launch and also my first launch witnessed. I became interested in space shuttle launch activity after the great amount of hype for Challenger crew. But it wasn't until after the disaster that I wanted to actually travel to the site of a launch. Glad I did, I will never be the same. This was filmed from the Howard Johnson Hotel which was located directly across from Titusville, High School and 10 miles across from launch pad 39-B. September 29, 1988 Space Shuttle Disovery OV-103 1137 hours.

Very nice! One of the most attended shuttles ever.Did it ever come back out of the clouds from Titusville?

Not from my angle, I've watched this launch from NASA's camera angles and of course there no clouds in site from their angles. But you have remember, we were 10 miles across from the launch pad and there were clouds between us and the the pad.
