No he was being sarcastic in the same way I was to you. In public forum showing superior intellect by directly making the other individuals ideals look inferior and/or lacking in knowledge and/or lacking in application to the situation.

It was as concise an example of how much of a degenerate he is as when he was talking about a dead bird he had just shot when he said,"This is what happens when you don't vote for me.". He was masquerading as sincere when he was "schooling" RP on why we should stay in Iraq. It is evident by his smirk/wink.

How many times in debate has someone said something that was wrong and you are thinking "your a f%^@ing idiot" in your head but because of the forum had to stop yourself from bursting into laughter?

Under the context of humor or joking, Huckabee's fact based comment simply lacks the criteria for being a joke. Sarcasm? Perhaps. sarcasm with no intent other than to discredit the other person's stance is not a joke at all.

You talk of social function but fail to note its use correctly in forum.

So Huckabee leads a secret group stealing civil rights. Uses his facial muscle mastery to rub in his joke about his groups power! But you, the great interpreter of hidden messages CAUGHT IT! You then got on YouTube to bring down this insidious group, to open the eyes of we the masses of unperceptive sheep.

Or did he feel that he made Ron look out of touch with two text book rebuttals aimed at getting applauds then stifled laughing in Ron's face for it in an attempt to not be called uncouth?

The thing is some people miss certain nonverbal cues that go along with things they say. Huckabee was actually making a joke when he said, "That's what we do on the floor of the senate." and then did his sly smirk. If you can't tell he's making a joke who knows how much gets past you. You can't tell me he doesn't pull a half smile. It wasn't an uncontrolled twitch. It was timed right after his quip. It's things like that that get past people who probably don't want to see it to begin with.
