He's one of the reasons that I strive to become a great danseur. I can't get that extension yet, (most guys can't) but I'm stretching and practicing.

This touches me ...I've known Matthew since he was 12! It's been so MANY years since I saw him....last around 1990.
He has always taken dancing SERIOUSLY when the other children were playing around at the theater in Inglewood, he was about it.

He joined Alvin Ailey right out of HS so he has been dancing with them for about 17 years now..

this is GREAT....I really wish they would televise the ACA awards so people can be exposed to such beauty as that. That;s how people get inspired, after all everyone isn't able to afford to see live performances.

Maybe some of the popularity of dance realated shows on tv will lead to coverage of this show even if on cable. I actually watched it and it was more entertaining than most award shows, but of course only a few "stars" (that the general public knows) were there.
