When You Come Back to Me Again - A Tribute to Mom

I'd been looking for my mom for about 3 years. I haven't seen her since I was 6. (About sixteen years) I finally found her over the 2007 Thanksgiving holiday. As it turned out, she had been trying to find me as well.

We waited about two months to get together so I had a little extra time to work and save some money. We were finally reunited on 02/13/08, just 3 days before my 22nd birthday. I spent a week with her & my two little sisters before I went back home.

She & I had been emailing each other pictures since November. Some of the pictures in the video are ones she emailed to me, but most of them are pictures of her my dad kept if my brother & I ever wanted pictures of her. I also added some pictures of me into the mix as I felt that it was appropriate since she had been hoping to hear from one of us; but I tried to make it more about her than about me.

I told her "When You Come Back to Me Again" by Garth Brooks always reminded me of her; and after she heard it, we made it our song.

I heard this song on the radio last week as I was returning from visiting my daughters grave. I hadn't heard it in a long time. It has been 4 years since cancer stole her body from her soul. It is fitting it was Garth, When Lindsey was 11 she went to her first concert and I have a picture of Garth giving her a kiss when she handed flowers to him. We played the song The Dance by Garth at her funeral. 21 years old is way too short of time to live.

just want to say that I'm a mom who lost touch with my only child. that is a pain that still stings.but now she found me again after 7 long years' she has her own little family now that I'm a part of and wouldn't ever let go again. Children are Mothers greatest gifts. I'm so happy for you too.

My sister and I (same birthmother, different fathers) have been looking for our birthmother for years now. We are 13 months apart in age and were adopted in 1960 and 1961 through the Children's Home Society of Florida. All we have is non-identifying info. I feel our birth mother in my heart and I feel she is looking for us, too. She'd be 69/70 this year. She requested my sister and I be placed together, if possible, and we were.
