I had a feeling this break would be a short one. I just can't keep my claws off the shinies.

So here we are, back to Mega Man & Bass again, in more of an instructional series on how to get all 100 Database CDs. I plan to do ten discs per video, so hopefully that will stay constant. I figured this would be a good way to do it so that, if anyone out there is missing a particular disc number, they can use my series as a reference by watching the videos that contain the ones they need.

As a note, it has been brought to my attention that the Lightning Bolt can be used to make characters jump in mid air, but I simply don't have good enough timing for that. You have to hit the jump at exactly the right moment. As such, I'm just showing normal ways to get the discs, not making use of that particular..... is it a glitch, or a skill? I have to respect anyone with the timing to use that effectively...

I'm using the GBA version of the game, mainly so that I can read and comment on the discs themselves. However, it's interesting to note differences between the two versions. For one thing, rooms have more of a scroll to them, both horizontally and vertically, due to the screen limitations of the GBA as compared to the SNES. Also, as you reach midpoints in the stages, a "Now Saving" box pops up. I'm really not sure why this was added... Finally, Bass gets screwed over a wee bit. It's a lot more awkward using his dash, as there's no longer a dedicated button for it. Instead, he can only dash by tapping left or right twice.

Hopefully these videos will still prove entertaining, so I hope you enjoy them ;)

  • @RoahmMythril How well does the GBA version fair to the SNES version? Do you reccomend it and is it hard to find the GBA cartridge?

  • I don't actually know how hard the GBA cart is to find, but I would say the Super Famicom version is better. Of course, it only was released in Japan. The problem with the GBA version is it cuts off part of the screen due to the different screen sizes. This can occasionally be troublesome.

  • I love how they've made all this new artwork for all the old familiar robot masters, it's awesome to see them in an updated look.

  • Indeed, I kind of wish someone really good with sprites would make such images for all the Robot Masters that don't have them, like the ones from 9 and 10.

  • What are your 5 favorite database CDs in this game (for humour or interesting trivia etc)

  • Mega Water S's is great for the sheer weirdness. I also like Dynamo Man's for his quote, it brings up his lonely personality, which is interesting. Top Man's makes me laugh since it references the song I used for that Perfect Run vid. Crystal Man's is interesting since it answers the question of how Wily gets money. And I like Dr. Light's since it seemingly references Battle Network.

  • explicit video... good!

  • THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!! This makes finding those CDs so much easier!!!

  • What is the intro song?

  • Air man likes surfing because his big propeller can make big waves from the water.

  • I can only assume Airman loves his Windsurfing rather than normal surfing. Still strange, though.
