  • Yay!; Newport + System Shock = Awesome.

Recording quality looks fantastic, really looking forward to watching this!

As a side note, you really should put back your "Uploads" on your Profile, considering I had to go through my subscriptions to watch this, although I could be missing something...

  • @Nerfination To be fair, the game is carrying almost all of the load, awesome wise. I just try not to muck it up. :)

    I'm glad you like it.

Huh. I had selected them to be visible, but apparently there was an additional interface I had to use before they'd actually show up. Thank you very much for the heads up.

  • YES!!! I'm so happy to see more BlainNewport. And it's SYSTEM SHOCK! That's even better!

  • @mrfreeman117 That's nice to hear. And yes, System Shock is the bees knees.

  • I'm back!

  • I knew I should never have built this LP on an Indian burial ground! :O

  • @F3rgul Yeah, I know. Thief 2 and SS2 were actually being made at the same time and the teams were constatnly sharing resources.

  • My first FPS, I rented System Shock(3inch diskette version) from a small PC games rental store in Dublin Ireland back in early 1995, I chose it over Dark Forces on the day because I could only rent one game and that was hard since I love Star Wars, but once I read the System Shock box that was it. My family had just bought our first PC a 486DX2 with a 15 inch monitor that christmas. I will never forget this experience.

  • @Gooberslot

It was Looking Glass Studios' Thief 1 engine, Irrational Games were on a tight budget and limited resources, it was also their debut with a small dev team too, something like around 15 or less employees working on SS2.

  • @Gooberslot I try to do my research for these, even if I tend to forget everything by the third or fourth installment. :P

I think it's how I went through the game originally, so hopefully I'll manage.

I haven't traced out all of their careers, but I'm led to believe that the Looking Glass folks were a heaping pile of geniuses. Even more amazingly, many of System Shock's features were in Ultima Underworld in 1992... pre Doom.
