The Alabama State Song, performed by the Auburn United Methodist Church Festival Choir at the ninth annual Star Spangled Spectacular Concert on June 27, 2010.
@SinHsv It is quite an anthem, isn't it? Naturally, some renditions are more beautiful than others, but the song itself is beautiful on its own. The only other state songs that I can think of which manage to compete with "Alabama" are the anthems of Virginia, Illinois, and West Virginia.
This rendition in particular is very beautiful. It's actually one of the best I've heard. I wish they'd done all the verses, but the song would be like fifteen minutes long then. Lol!
@AlabamaSoldier I cannot listen to this majestic anthem without crying. The first time I ever heard it was at a Jacksonville State football game, (I was visiting my sister, who was at Jax State at the time.along with the man she would later marry.) The Marching Southerners (JSU's band) played "Alabama" right after the National Anthem . . . I was breathing kinda funny until kickoff. Wanted to bawl, but somehow, I just didn't want to "lose it" in front of a few thousand strangers. INSPIRED!
beautifull.
