Charlie having a seizure. She wakes up and goes rigid, eyes very wide, slightly jerks head, and then has a hard spasm at the end. They've recently gotten more forceful.

  • And to update my earlier posts, we found out the other "seizures" she was having were not seizures at all, but autonomic crises, which is probably why none of the conventional meds worked. She's down to 1 seizure med. She was on 4 meds at one point. Now we control the crises with oxycodone.

  • Her seizures were confirmed by an EEG a couple of months after this video was taken. They were lasting 2 minutes or more and happening up to 6 times a day. They got much stronger too. She's been on Keppra ever since they were confirmed and has not had a tonic clonic since. She does have smaller, more benign seizures occasionally, but since they do not seem to affect her, we do not treat them.

  • Sorry I meant to say 5 minutes for the diastat, not a minute. LOL

  • can do for her really. She's on all kinds of meds. The last time we took her in, they didn't do anything more than we do at home. Youtube is the *perfect* place for these videos. I can reach a large number of people through youtube, including her doctors and nurses. And that comment at the end...I'm *comforting* my daughter, not trying to pretend everything is just fine. I KNOW seizures are not fine. Calming her when it's over and letting her know it's over is the best I can do.

  • Hi, xxxHSMgalxxx. My daughter is in no danger from her seizures. She is monitored with a pulse-ox to see if her oxygen levels slip and we have a portable suction machine for any airway issues. We also have diastat AND ativan available for seizures that last longer than a minute. To assume that every person that has a seizure should be rushed in to the hospital is quite....ridiculous. Should I take my daughter every 5 minutes? Because that's how often she has them now. There's nothing they

  • wow i cant imagine how hard this is for you...even just watching it brings the tears...how old can a child be diagnosed with this? my prayers are with you...god bless

  • Seizures can develop any time during life. My daughter is prone to them because of a brain injury she suffered sometime before or during labor. She was diagnosed at just a few days old.

  • GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR CHILD.THE LORD YESHUA WILL HEAL HER.

THIS I BELIEVE.SHE IS BEAUTIFUL AND A WONDER.

  • hey your kid looks like greedo from star wars

  • I didn't read many of the viewers comments....but I did ready yours...and if someone was telling you to not tell your daughter it's ok. They are stupid. The best thing to do in this situation is to comfort her and not freak out. If you freak out in situations like these it just makes it worse. My daughter is 1 1/2 and had a seizure not too long ago, and I did the same thing. The best thing you can do is comfort them the best you can. I'm still trying to find answers for my daughter, so thank you

  • Sweet baby girl, I hate that she has to go through this! Is she having an absence type seizure? Or what kind is it? God bless you mom and dad, and god bless baby!

  • They film stuff like this to show other parents what seisures can look like and how they manifest themselves. It's important for people to see it, so they know what to recognise in their own children.

Are people REALLY so ignorant that they don't realise why things like this need to be filmed?

  • I kinda found this hard to watch. Seeing a cute little baby jerk like that , eyes wide.

  • All the people who are commenting that she is a bad parent, answer this to me.

If she was a bad parent, would she have taken her daughter in for treatment when she needed it? Just stop commenting on things that you don't have the full story on, calm down and read the uploader comments for once..

  • Awe, baby. :(

  • this makes me sick. bad parent

  • =[ i dunno why ppl film it so that other ppl can watch the pain and hurt of an innocent baby :'( </3
