This is a pool in the back yard of a hillside home. It is at the grade on one side, where it's closest to the house. On the other side , it is elevated 8 feet in the air, held up only by three columns and a ton of steel. My father did the structural design for the pool as well as the house that actually has a corner of the house made of of glass. As most people involved in the construction industry know, the corners is where most of the structural connections , as well as reinforcement for lateral movement are positioned, so to have there be two intersecting sheets of glass instead of wood, steel or other building material was quite a feat.
