Mathews Z7 70/30 with HHA-DSXL 5519, QAD-HD rest, 10" Featherlite Stablizer, G5 3/16 peep site. Shooting Goldtip Hunter XT 5575 / 100 grain tip, blazer fletching & Burt Coyote Lumenoks @ 20 yds. Using a Winn Archery Loop Hook release. Got this bow right after Christmas 2009. Never shot a compound bow before Thanksgiving 2009. Shot my friends Mathews DXT and got the fever. 1st two shots are slightly high & left...last shot is dead on. Not too shabby for a NOOB.

One other thing...IBO rating for this bow is "up to" 332 fps; however, with my arrows and bow cranked up to 70lbs I'm only getting 306 fps.

  • Thanks tomato...That was only 1 month after I got my bow. My draw is much smoother now.

  • Man you are shooting great for 1 month keep it up:).

  • @allamericanhunting Finally! Someone that gets it! LOL

    Thanks man!

I'm shooting a lot better now, switched to a stiffer arrow and feathers vs. blazers. That was only 20 yds indoors. I'm shooting accurately at 30-50 yds and when I'm feeling a little crazy there's a 60 yard target to shoot at just for fun.

  • hey bro not to be mean or anythin try to losen up your grip on the bow I can see you torquing it, also maybe try to lower the draw weight.

  • @thehunter826 No offense taken. Believe it or not this is my 1st bow. This video was shot after only owning it one month. I've learned to shoot with an open hand and not grip the handle so tight...I was fortunate enough to have a little guidance from an archery coach that was shooting indoors at the same time I was, he pointed out some of my flaws. Also...the draw weight...I could barely pull back 60 lb when I first got bow. I was trying to ramp up to 70 lb. My draw is much smoother now.

  • @chooeee if thats so then why post a video of it, show us your good form... it'll help shut up haters.

  • @nref55 The main point of this video was to show the Lumenoks in slow motion. Despite only owning it about a month at the time this video was shot and it being my 1st compound bow EVER...I'd say for a beginner...not too bad. I'll have to get out to the club again with my camera and shoot another one I guess. ; )

  • @prescole The pressure of your string pushing against the nock when you shoot turns them on the Lumenok.

  • How do you like the Gold Tip Hunter XT's?

  • How is the Loop Hook release? I use the C-12 release, which is basically a C-10 but you pull the trigger back, draw your bow, and let go of the trigger. I was thinking about trying the C-10, but the Loop Hook sounds more easy to load, because my C-12 was a pain in the ass to load. So which one, C-10 or Loop Hook?

  • Great shooting, My only tip, drop your poundage on the bow a little until you get used to shooting. As my bow tuner always says "70 pounds? What are you planning on killing, elephants?" 60-65lbs draw weight carries more than enough kenetic energy to hunt most anything on the continent.

  • @MultiAnthony96 im not ure how but when ever you shoot they come on

  • how do the lights turn on?

  • good shooting man!

    Keep up the good work

  • @BASSMASTER3782 just what i said

  • TIP: and this isnt a form or you need to this with your hand tip....unless you want to look like the newdie at the range dont sti your arrows in your quiver get a hip quiver or use the tubes they have....
