Florida plastic surgeon Dr. Wigoda talks about Tummy-Tucks and things to consider when thinking about getting one.

Dr. Wigoda explains that patients who are bothered by their stomach come in to get either liposuction or a Tummy-Tuck. While liposuction is just to remove fat, a Tummy-Tuck is actually three procedures in one:

1. It removes fat
2. It removes excess skin
3. It tightens muscles

Dr. Wigoda says that even though it is 3 procedures in one, Tummy-Tucks do have some downsides:

- The Tummy-Tuck procedure takes longer than liposuction.
- The Tummy-Tuck recovery period is approximately 6 weeks.
- A Tummy-Tuck can be more costly.
- A Tummy-Tuck can leave longer scars.

Dr. Wigedo says that if you have good skin tone and no loose skin, you might just need liposuction. If you have loose skin that is hanging, then a Tummy-Tuck may be more appropriate.
