Ever wondered just how big 14.4 Trillion dollars is? Most Americans just don't understand. This new video series from RightChange puts this in perspective using the example of the weight of a standard school bus. Washington obviously does not get this either. Take a minute and share with your friends. While Washington fights over the debt ceiling, keep in mind that all of the rhetoric does not deal with the real problem. Even with their proposed cuts and tax increases the national debt will rise about 7 trillion dollars on top of the 14.5 trillion already in place even with their cuts. We lose!
@MrBudtcb: “...CBOs are not always right. ...republicans after what they have pulled will not see a win in the next presidential election.”
Wholly imbecilic; no proof CBO is wrong here, it bears historically high accuracy, and poll after poll shows Obama’s reelection prospects in the toilet. “It’s the economy, stupid” (thank you Mr. Carville)! Whereas likelihood of economic growth prior to 11/12, is slim to cotton-picken none.
Please borrow a mind before demonstrating, you’ve lost yours.

@PoliticallyBlazed Well then let me spell it out, CBOs are not always right. I'm not democrat or republican I'm just an American who believes in truth and doing what's right but I have voted both ways. And trust me the republicans after what they have pulled will not see a win in the next presidential election. Did you notice when john Mccain was speaking on the floor how he praised Reagan administration and then jumped over the bush administration to blaming obama for all our debt..

@Republican4Jayzuz I agree that BOTH parties have spent too much. I agree that presidents of both parties have spent too much. The point is that WE MUST STOP SPENDING. More revenue will not fix the problem if we don't stop spending. Like I said, we need to toss out the tax code completely. However, we can do it with just the revenue the government gets right now.

@CommonSenseJoe So, you agree that Republicans in the House passed a budget conducive to a huge deficit? Or do we just ignore that and hope no one notices? Playing the blame game must stop? Boy, what a hypocrite you are. Yes, we do need to pay up on our debt. Good luck doing that with no new revenue.

@Republican4Jayzuz The House controls the purse strings NOW, and they are cutting off the spending. Look who is screaming the loudest, the President and Democrats. He and the Democrats had the control and spend like there was no tomorrow. Well, guess what! There is a tomorrow and the spending MUST stop. Playing the blame game must stop. We need to freeze spending and scrap the tax code completely. We need a flat tax with no exemptions or credits for anyone. We need to pay up our debt.

@CommonSenseJoe The House controls the purse strings. Or is today, "The House is responsible for nothing!" day in Republicanland? I can't keep track anymore.

@MrBudtcb: “July 27, 2011 former deputy asst. treasury secretary for the bush adm. Bruce Bartlett and also a policy adviser for Ronald Reagan (quote) The CBOs projected a 6 trillion surplus during bush adm. "
Your statement says nothing, and proves nothing; but then, when one has no point...

@PoliticallyBlazed .. July 27, 2011 former deputy asst. treasury secretary for the bush adm. Bruce Bartlett and also a policy adviser for Ronald Reagan (quote) The CBOs projected a 6 trillion surplus during bush adm. Rep. keep saying that tax cuts are the key to prosperity and the 2000s is evidence that's not true. The republican playbook will say the deficit is never caused by tax cuts or wars.

@Republican4Jayzuz President Obama has spent tremendous amounts of money in his first few years. The debt is not all his fault, but the budget deficit is definitely his.

Doubling the debt in two years, is that worth a place in the Guinness Book of Records ?
