The song isn't about his dragon. It's been awhile since I've seen the movie but there was a lady that Pete befriends who is waiting for her husband to return home from the sea. She sings this song at the top of the lighthouse as she waits for him.

@SuperApplecomputer If this was sung in Pete's Dragon maybe...this is not featured in the movie though and its a different interpretation of the song.  It's not talking about Pete's dragon at all.

@SuperApplecomputer In the context of the episode in which this song was featured that was kind of the point. This version is supposed to be inappropriate. Still, musically, it's still well done with tight harmonies, and even with the bouncy arrangement, Chenoweth still manages to convey a kind of longing hopefulness with her vocals which is what the song is really about.

This is not supposed to be a happy song... Its way better sung in petes dragon when there was a story behind the song... This version is like laughin at a dead person saying haha your dead!!!! Its an insult
