I made a quick video guide on the general disassembly/reassembly of the AUG for the benefit of ASF members. There is a special bit about the trigger assembly.

ASF (AirsoftForum) is a fantastic board with friendly staff and members ready and willing to answer any and all airsoft questions you have. ASF taught me everything I know about airsoft, educating me from a complete newbie to being able to do what you see in this video. Feel free to check out the site at http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/forums.html

  • Doe it use a short motor

  • @TheBigDin Yes.

  • You couldnt do me a massive massive favour and get me a shim map of your gears could you? (For both sides of the axles). Im having trouble pulling any spring over an M90 and i think it might be my shimming. Cheers.

  • @ChrizFromUK All gearbox shells and gears are different; the proper shim job varies greatly from setup to setup... The shims I have will most likely not work with your parts. So I can't be of any help here, sorry =/

  • Will a AUG gearbox fit into an Ak47? there both v3 gearboxes, but they might be diffrent can anyone tell me this?

  • @redneckdude4 The difference come from the selector switch system and the AUG wiring. The wiring is totally different. You can reuse the shell and the main internals, but the wiring and selector system must be for the specific AEG.

  • Thanks a lot. This saved me $80 in gun tech rates. The CA AUG breaks down the exact same way.

  • Amazing. I assumed based on the design of the AUG (I have the UA-4 by JG) that the breakdown would be similar to a P90, and your video proved me correct. Hell, even the upper receiver comes out nearly the same way. Which means, just like the P90, this gun is EXTREMELY easy to upgrade. I love it when a guns breakdown can be done to get to the gearbox easy, makes finding problems with a gun so much easier. Great video, you didn't lose me once.

  • yeah i should have watched this before, I took mine apart not putting any pressure on the spring, and all the pieces went everywhere xD

  • I had a couple of quick questions:

1)Is that the CA version and is everything in that gearbox shown in the video stock?

2)Do you think it can handle the matrix turbo 3000 motor? If you don't know, no biggy.

3)IF you have upgraded the piston, spring and/or barrel what brands did you use.

If you don't mind answering these questions, that would be great help.

    Thanks.

  • Is the motor plate the part that the motor us clamped into and screwed into the gearbox? And have you found any replacements anywhere?

  • Just an extra tip I figured out, if your spring won't stay in the tiny hole, taping a neodymium magnet one the outside of the gearbox can help you get it together, magnet won't stick to the pot metal, but it will stick to the spring. Just remember to take off the magnet before you put the box back in the casing.

  • has your motor plate broken yet? if so, have you found a solution to the problem?

  • could you teach me how to install a mosfet into a aug? i wanna rewire it tooo...

  • whoevers playin the piano is actually pretty good lol

  • @theWARRIORpfcMOTLEY make a video adding the parts you put in step by step and a before and after performance test. like a range test, a ROF test, and and an FPS test if you have a chrono. also, you may want to get the civilian version because, although the scope is nice, it's not a "sniper" scope.
