Uriah Heep - Lady in Black @ disco 1977

Uriah Heep are an English hard rock band.
The band released several commercially successful albums in the 1970s such as Uriah Heep Live (1973), but their audience declined by the 1980s, to the point where they became essentially a cult band in the United States and United Kingdom. Uriah Heep maintain a significant following in Germany, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, the Balkans, Japan and Russia, where they still perform at stadium-sized venues.
Uriah Heep were the first Western band to play in Soviet Russia, under Gorbachev's policy of glasnost. They have sold over 30 million albums worldwide.
David Byron (29 January 1947 -- 28 February 1985) born as David Garrick was the original lead vocalist for Spice (from 1967 through 1969) and is most famous for singing in the rock band Uriah Heep between 1969 and 1976. Disco was a pop music program that aired in Germany on the ZDF network from 1971 to 1982.
Uriah Heep ist eine britische Hardrock-Band, benannt nach einer Figur aus dem Roman David Copperfield von Charles Dickens. Gemeinsam mit Black Sabbath, Deep Purple und Led Zeppelin zählen Uriah Heep zu den frühen und erfolgreichsten Vertretern des Hardrock. Im Unterschied zu vielen anderen Interpreten des Genres gewichten Uriah Heep in einem Teil ihrer Werke die melodische und romantische Seite des Hardrocks durch ihren ausgefeilten, oft mehrstimmigen Gesang stärker. Uriah Heep haben bis heute über 30 Millionen Tonträger verkauft.
David Byron (* 29. Januar 1947 in Epping, England; † 28. Februar 1985 in Reading; eigentlich David Garrick) war ein englischer Musiker.
David Byron wurde bekannt als Sänger und Frontmann der Rockband Uriah Heep, die er 1970 zusammen mit Ken Hensley, Mick Box, Paul Newton und Alex Napier gründete. 1975 veröffentlichte er sein erstes Solo-Album Take No Prisoners. Das Album war jedoch kommerziell wenig erfolgreich. David Byron warf Ken Hensley vor, dass er ihn nicht bei der Produktion mit seinem Orgelsound, der auf dem Album vermisst wurde, unterstützt hatte. In der Folgezeit kam es zu Querelen zwischen den beiden Musikern, die sich auf die Stimmung in der Band übertrugen. Byron übersteigerte sein Image als Frontmann der Band mit seiner Primadonnen-Attitüde, bis er 1976 von den übrigen Bandmitgliedern entlassen wurde. Er gründete daraufhin mit dem ehemaligen Humble Pie Gitarristen Clem Clempson und dem früheren Wings-Schlagzeuger Geoff Britton die Band Rough Diamond. Die Band veröffentlichte 1977 das einzige gleichnamige Album und trennte sich im Anschluss von ihrem Sänger, um unter dem Namen Champion eine weitere Platte einzuspielen, woraufhin Byron seine Solokarriere fortsetzte. Das Album Baby Faced Killer war kommerziell kaum erfolgreich und er gründete die Byron Band. Es blieb bei dem 1981 erschienen Album On the Rocks. 1985 starb Byron an den Folgen der immer stärker werdenden Alkoholsucht und wurde erst Tage danach gefunden.
disco ist eine Musiksendung des ZDF, die von 1971 bis 1982 produziert wurde und in jedem Jahr mit dem entsprechenden Titel (z. B. "DISCO '77") präsentiert wurde.

i remember uriah heep from growing up in the 70's,but i don't remember this particular song.i heard it and figured it out on the guitar quickly because it's just two chords.a minor and g major,but the lyrics and the vocals blew me away!!!i get chills every time i listen to it.!! i still don't understand who the lady in black is suppose to be,but it doesn't matter,'cause the song is awesome and ken hensley is brilliant!! KUDOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
