Ah, you're one of those "see the glass half empty" types that loves making criticisms so much that you can't see something incredible right in front of your own eyes. My sympathies. Volkswagen makes great cars, Passat is wonderful. I still like the Japanese cars more, but the gap is narrowing. The saddest thing though, is what has happened American Production...it will be the end of America. Wake up americans...PRODUCE - not make war!

Id say youre the half glass full type. The Passat may be wonderful, but it doesnt hold a candle to my Riviera for either quality, nor performance. The biggest blunder the US automakers made in the last decades was not communicating the quality of their cars. Too many believe as you do.

I'm an american, friend, expat, used to have a Riviera and many others. You can believe in the diminishing quality of american cars if you like, but not me. They let the people down.
