Gregory and Bonnie Schmidt, founders and producers of Festivals International, turned the back lot of Bellevue Pumpkin Patch, 48th Street south between Cornhusker and Highway 370, into a permanent festival grounds for up to four festivals a year including Pirate Fest.
The event featured treehouses, a mystery cave, petting zoo, pirate ships, themed shops and bridges, all staffed with a variety of cast members from Peter Pan and other storybook legends and more than 100 village characters.
Well, after getting weathered out in 2009, we get to try this again next weekend! I had forgotten about this video montage being here -- thanks again. It's a great reminder.
