Nuclear Convection - Bathurst, NSW, 29th Nov 2011

This storm developed rapidly about 100kms to our N/NE. It tracked almost due south - right moving compared to most of the other convection. After dumping obvious hail the storm weakened before we could reach it. There were even nastier storms late that day which we intercepted around midnight

rather intense centre on that cell,what direction was other cells nearby moving to

@ume350 The other cells were moving SE, this one was almost south moving, but the anvil was being taken east.

@anonymousstormchaser I wish I did, as it was we were flat out intercepting it. While it looked like a pulse beast, it was not, it was actually moving along at 50-60 kph

is that supercell? curious as i cant seem to notice any signs of rotation...

Really spectacular and interesting explozive convection. I look forward to come the summer time and to have the chance to see some powerful severe thunderstorms.
