@caplincapybara I would rather my dog be trained to use a bowl of water by the toilet..not that I wouldn't walk him. hahah

Caplin is playing it cool in front of the she-baras!
I heard capys are very social and do well in pairs- but I was wondering about the type of enrichment you would use when you just own one...

@caplincapybara Actually I do know a bit about Capys which is why I said they are difficult to look after. Because they are. And not just every person who thinks "oh he is so cute" should go out and try and get one. They require time, patience, and money - generally in greater quantities than a more... say, common pet animal - like a dog, or cage-rodent.
And yeah, dogs are still.... in my opinion, more fun.
Dogs are much easier to look after and much more fun....
All these people looking at these vids going "so cute, I want one" know nothing abou how difficult it is to actually look after these animals.

@whataboutredlorry That's great that you like dogs but you don't know anything about capybaras so I don't think you can judge which is "more fun." Plus, people differ in what the consider fun. My videos and blog attempt to educate people about capybaras and how much work they are to keep as pets so it is quite possible that my viewers know more than you do about that.

Can they be potty trained to go outside like a dog?

@ad9899 Caplin uses a bowl of water by the toilet. I am not sure if they can be trained to go outside only but I suspect they can. They are very smart.

My wifes family farm has a large population of wild Capy's, how could I take a baby and raise it as a pet? also. what do the local breed Capy's sell for? my wife is from Brazil and their farm is in the northeast of Brazil, so wild Capy's are not all the unusual!!

@gwrash Not that I am advocating getting one for a pet. They are a lot of work and may become aggressive. Please read my blog for more information.
