Most times new ways of looking at things mean better development. I applaud bringing in Ann and hope she can improve further or see things that were missed. With regard to accessability and rich interaction, I do not know if it is wise to allow constrictions. Should ideas and/or approaches conflict (most are complementary), I would primarily cater for the largest group. But even if Ann's upcoming standards should not be implemented in full yet, at least Drupal will be aware. Good approach!
